To drain or not to drain.....

January 15, 2013

Usually I'm excited to go to the clinic. Well, not today my friends!! Today Dr. Foulk is draining a cyst that is on my right ovary. If you think this sounds painful....IT IS!!! Thankfully Kim went with me. As we got in the exam room I made the mistake of looking around. I wish that I didn't because guess what I found.....this
What is this you ask, well PAIN. It's hard to miss but if you look closely it's about a foot and a half in length and about the width of an IV needle. I started to panic. The MA and the Dr. came in and I asked if he was using that ginormous needle or if he was just playing a prank on me. This is what he said, "You're not supposed to look at the needle". I said, "Um, hello, how could you miss it! Its the size of Texas". He told me next time he was going to fake me out and put a little needle on the table and then when I wasn't looking he would have the nurse change it. lol
"Can you knock me out for this doc"?
Dr. Foulk, "No it will be really quick".
Haha easy for him to say he wasn't having to have a huge needle go up his insides and drain a cyst.
"Ok, here's the plan, when I'm not looking just hit me on the side of the head really hard to knock me out". They just laughed but I was pretty serious.
OUCH!!!! I think I almost broke Kim's hand by gripping it soo hard. Trying to get pregnant is a heck of a lot more painful than it use to be!!!
After the procedure was done I asked the doctor if it was a boy? girl? fluid? dark? transparent? what? You know me of course I had to take a picture. I was quite proud of my 15ml fluid baby. Lol. I laugh but I probably cried!

Here's a pic of the little tike. haha

After they drained my cyst I was ready to start my injections
Follistim
Menopur
Ganirelex
Lupron
