20 Week Ultrasound

First of all I just have to say I am overwhelmed with gratitude for all of you who have prayed, put our names in the temple, and fasted for our family. We are truly blessed with amazing friend and family and we love you very much.

Today was our big 20-week ultrasound. I think I was the only one in the room not breathing. Yes, most people when they go in for their 20 week ultrasound they are probably like “Yay, we get to find out the gender of the baby”, us well…. not so much

Here was our checklist today:

Are there still kidneys?

How many chambers, and is the heart healthy?

Are the lungs going to function outside the womb?

How many lobes in the brain cavity?

10 fingers and 10 toes?

Spinal cord all intact?

Swallowing/bladder?

How are the chromosomes?

Is there placenta abruption or placenta previa?

How is the cervix?

Does it have a cleft lip and palate?

Do we need to have a cerclage?

Are you sure it’s a girl?

Can I duck tape Kim to the bed for bed rest?....lol but really?

Yes, the ultrasound tech was like, omg these guys are crazy, but hey if these questions make me sound crazy, then so be it!!

And there she was, our beautiful baby Girl! How could something so little, and in black and white make us fall in love with her so fast. She is beautiful and hopefully our miracle baby. I long for the days that I can hold her, but I’ll definitely wait until she is done growing. I also long for the days that I will be able to be with my four angel babies. I miss them so much. There is not a day that goes by that I don’t think or dream about them. My little guardian angels. Well little angels please take care of your little sister for us!
